• Attendance at FMI Midwinter is the best since 1997, according to the association.

• FMI will be making available two new research pieces at Midwinter: a report about consumer shopping behavior from FMI, Daymon and Hartman, and a report on the evolving dollar store channel from Deloitte.

• The Scottsdale-area weather hasn't been stellar lately, but it got its act together just as the GMA/FMI events were kicking off. Highs are in the 70s and lows in the 40s this week with no precipitation in sight.
