PHOENIX -- A new half-size returnable plastic container was unveiled by Chep, Orlando, Fla., during the annual convention here of the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association, Alexandria, Va. The 30-by-40 centimeter RPC holds the equivalent of 52 bushels and is designed for holding specialty or value-added produce items. A new feature includes scalloped side walls for more efficient cubing capability, according to officials. The container also incorporates benefits found in larger RPCs, including pre-cooling capabilities, product protection and recyclability, they said.
