According to Robert Mariano, president and chief executive officer of the 97-store chain, the increase in operating cash flow "was the result of increased profitability of our Fresh stores and continued improvements in produce procurement costs and expense containment programs."

Dominick's is planning to invest $46 million in capital improvements, including opening seven new stores and remodeling 15 stores.
