Price Chopper Taps Produce Director
nderlinden has been named director of produce merchandising for Price Chopper Supermarkets, based here.
In his new position, Vanderlinden is responsible for managing sales, profitability and merchandising programs of the produce department. He reports to John McGraw, vice president of perishables.
The position had been vacant since former director Rick Smith left the company several months ago.
Vanderlinden joined Price Chopper Supermarkets in 1994 as a buyer, and most recently was manager of produce merchandising.
Previous to Vanderlinden's employment at Price Chopper, he was employed as a quality control supervisor for Fleming Cos., Oklahoma City. Prior to that he was a produce/sales manager, as well as a produce field manager at Kohl Foods, Milwaukee.
Sun World Adds to Sales Staff
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Four new sales professionals have been appointed to the fruit sales staff at Sun World International, the packer and marketer of fruit based here.
Douglass H. Trask has been appointed treefruit category manager, while Thomas N. Casale, Roger W. Griess and Shawn Caldwell, are all new sales representatives.
The sales positions were added to accommodate significant new fruit volume the company has acquired in recent months, according to Mike Aiton, senior vice president at Sun World.
The new sales staffers focus their energies on marketing Sun World's treefruit and table grape product line and on assisting in promoting and distributing citrus.
Trask, Casale and Griess are new to the Sun World organization, while Caldwell was a sales coordinator.
