rms here has named Tim Tejada to the new post of accounts manager for the West.

The appointment will bolster the poultry processor's presence in that part of the country, according to company officials.

Mr. Tejada is responsible for market expansion for all chain and multi-unit accounts that have their main offices in the West. He reports to Tony Del Nano, manager of national account sales for Perdue.

Before joining Perdue, Tejada held various managerial positions with Foster Farms in Livingston, Calif.; as well as with Kraft Foodservice in Santa Ana, Calif. He holds a degree in finance from Arizona State University.

Spunkmeyer Taps Sales Director

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. -- Otis Spunkmeyer, a manufacturer of branded muffins, cookie doughs and related baked goods, has appointed George DeMars director of channel sales.

This is a new position in the company, created after the departure of Ron Spangler, longtime national sales manager for specialty sales.

In his new role, DeMars is responsible for increasing the company's business in the club-store and mass-merchandiser channels. He is based in Aptos, Calif.

DeMars joins the company from Plush Pippin, a gourmet frozen-dessert division of Nabisco Food Service, where he was national account manager. He was responsible for management and product sales to club stores and mass merchandisers, including Sam's Club, Costco Wholesale and BJ's Wholesale Club.

Rich Products Appoints Anderson

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Rich Products Corp. has appointed Brian W. Anderson to the newly created position of strategic customer development manager.

He was formerly customer director at Nestle USA Beverage Co. of San Francisco. He was with that company for 13 years.

In his new post, Anderson is responsible for the strategic development of national and chain customers. He will also direct the flow of information between field sales and marketing. He reports to Ray Burke, president of Rich's bakery and deli division.

Rich's, the nation's largest family-owned manufacturer and marketer of frozen food products, is a major supplier of frozen desserts and frozen dough products to in-store bakery customers and to the food-service industry.

Wack and Ortega Rise at Bakery

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- La Parisienne Bakery, in the wake of rapid growth, has appointed a two executives to newly created sales/marketing positions.

Richard Wack has been appointed route sales manager. He had been depot manager at Schmidt Baking, Baltimore.

Dorothy Ortega, with the company two years as an administrative staff member, has been promoted to account executive, marketing. She joins two other account executives in the marketing department.

Wack reports to Mark Salman, president, and Ortega reports to Wack.

La Parisienne Bakery is a manufacturer of artisan breads, pastries and bagels in fresh, frozen dough and par-baked forms. Most of its sales are to supermarkets and warehouse clubs for their in-store bakery departments.
