Bruno's Fills Two New Posts
no's here has appointed two officers to newly created positions on its senior management team.
Laura Hayden was named senior vice president of human resources, and Walter M. Grant was named senior vice president and general counsel. Both report to William J. Bolton, chairman and chief executive officer.
Hayden, a 16-year veteran of Pepisco's human resources department, formerly was vice president of Frito-Lay, Dallas. She also held director and vice president positions with Frito-Lay and Pizza Hut.
Grant previously was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for the Actava Group Inc., Atlanta. He held similar posts at Smith & Nephew North America and Contel Corp.
Fleming Names Lynn Senior VP
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Dick Lynn has been named senior vice president of labor relations at Fleming Cos. here.
In the newly created position, Lynn directs and coordinates negotiations for 55 local and eight international unions, handles related legal matters and oversees the Safety and Occupational Health Services staff. He works directly with Steve Davis, executive vice president of distribution. For the past five years, Lynn was vice president of labor relations.
Alessi Resigns at Farm Fresh
NORFOLK, Va. -- Keith Alessi, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Farm Fresh here, has resigned.
Alessi left the company to become president and chief executive officer of Jackson Hewitt Inc., Virginia Beach, Va. He will remain a Farm Fresh director and serve as a consultant.
As of last week, a successor had not been named. Farm Fresh reported that company officials will assume Alessi's day-to-day responsibilities until a replacement is found. · ·
Waldbaum's Taps Senior VP
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. -- Paul Margarites has been named senior vice president of sales and merchandising for Waldbaum's here.
In his new position, Margarites is in charge of buying activities for Waldbaum's. He takes Gary Philbin's responsibilities, who left the company for Cub Foods, Minneapolis. Margarites reports to David Smithies, Waldbaum's president.
Margarites had been vice president of deli and bakery merchandising for A&P, Montvale, N.J., Waldbaum's parent company, since 1987. Before that, he held operations and merchandising management positions at Food Emporium, an A&P chain.
