DUNKIRK, N.Y. -- Fieldbrook Farms here, a manufacturer of 1,500 different frozen dessert and novelty items for more than 8,000 grocery stores nationwide, has a new agreement with CVS, the Woonsocket, R.I.-based drug store chain, under which Fieldbrook Farms will produce a line of premium ice cream called Absolutely Divine, and another line under the Golden Emblem label.
The ice creams, packed in half-gallons, are currently available in the Northeast, with CVS stores in Detroit and Chicago next, according to Fieldbrook.
"The addition of ice cream to the variety of goods sold at CVS shows the company has real insight into the needs of its consumers," said Michael Mitchell, marketing manager for Fieldbrook Farms.
The Absolutely Divine line is packaged in a newly designed round half-gallon. The premium flavors are Vanilla, Cookies & Creme, Strawberries & Creme, Mint Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
Regular flavors, packaged in a traditional half-gallon carton and sold as Golden Emblem, are Vanilla, Chocolate, Vanilla Fudge and Neapolitan.
