CARLISLE, Pa. -- Giant Food Stores here has announced the appointment of several employees to new positions, including Bill de Brauwere, who was named bakery director, a position long vacant within the company. He is responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of the company's bakery merchandising programs and reports to Hillary Gray, vice president of deli and bakery. Previously, de Brauwere spent 28 years working for Grand Union Co., Wayne, N.J., most recently as its corporate director of bakery.

Karen Bertolino has been named category merchandiser of breakfast and baking by Giant after four years with the company as dairy buyer and category merchandiser of dairy. She is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of business plans within assigned categories and reports to John Shanahan.
Appointed to the position of supply-chain coordinator for dairy, and responsible for all tasks relating to product supply and replenishment, Pam Sutch was previously the administrative assistant for beauty care as well as supply-chain coordinator of merchandising systems at Giant.
Sue Kordes has been appointed category merchandiser of dairy after years of service with Giant as its space-management analyst, supply-chain coordinator for grocery and, most recently, supply-chain coordinator for dairy. She is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of business plans within assigned categories. Both Sutch and Kordes report to Mike Drexler, category manager of dairy.
