Dream Bars in New Packaging PHILADELPHIA -- Dream Foods Co., a division of Sorbee International here, has begun shipping a new packaging size of its low-fat, low-calorie Dream bars.

Three 1-ounce Dream bars, packaged in a hole-punched bag designed for pegged displays, carry a suggested retail of $1.99. The tripacks are available nationally in 72-count prepacked shipper displays and in 12-count case packs for shelf display.

Philadelphia Show Dates Set KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- The 94th Philadelphia National Candy Gift & Gourmet show will open its doors Sept. 8. The show will be held here at the Valley Forge Convention Center. It is sponsored by the Retail Confectioners Association of Philadelphia here, which expects 275 companies to exhibit in 400 booths. Show hours for Sunday, Sept. 8, and Monday, Sept. 9, are planned to run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and for Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the show management office at (610) 265-4688.

New Line Targets Hispanics ROUND LAKE, Minn. -- Sathers Inc. here has developed a line of candies with the Hispanic community specifically in mind. It consists of nine items: Fiesta Mix, assorted toffees; Peanut Marzipan; Cajeta, milk caramel syrup; Pic Osito, tamarind-flavored liquid candy; Tomy, butterscotch/rum-flavored candy; Mimos, chocolate-covered peanut crunch candy; Damy, peanut crunch candy; Chick's gum, and Pica Lemon, lemon and chili candy powder. Now available nationally, the candy comes packaged in clear hanging bags, ranging in size from 1.5 ounces to 5 ounces. One case contains 12 bags, and each bag has a suggested retail of 99 cents.

Baton-Shaped Truffles Offered SEATTLE --

Fran's Chocolates here has introduced a baton-shaped design for truffles. The company developed the new shape to make on-the-go consumption easier for consumers. Individual sticks of Belgian chocolate surround chocolate mixed with such flavors as peanut butter, espresso, orange or mint. Each one-half-ounce stick comes individually wrapped in foil and is available to retailers in Fixation Folders -- four and 12 Fixations packaged in a carrying case decorated with a ribbon. Price points range from 85 cents to $10.50.

Singles come packed 36 to a sleeve, totaling 144 to a case. Four and 12 Fixation Folders are packaged 12 per case. Fixations were chosen as the 1996 Outstanding Confection Finalist at the Fancy Food Show.
