Retailers Launch New Database to Track Organized Theft

WASHINGTON A long-awaited national database designed to help retailers and law enforcement report, track and investigate retail criminal activity was launched here last week. The database, called the Law Enforcement Retail Partnership Network (LERPnet), combines elements of databases already developed by the National Retail Federation here and the Retail Industry Leaders Association, Arlington, Va.
