Price comparisons were made on the four leading shampoo brands sold in the Buffalo market. The top-selling items are Sauve, Pert Plus, Pantene Pro-V and Head & Shoulders, according to A.C. Nielsen, Schaumburg, Ill. The brands were added together for a comparison of the lowest and highest prices of those stores analyzed. It's no surprise that Wal-Mart brands were priced the lowest in the market at $9.70, with Wegmans on Wal-Mart's heels at $10.34, a difference of 64 cents.
