SKOKIE, Ill. -- Laird Snelgrove has joined Topco Associates here as director of dairy and regional programs.

He fills a vacancy created by an executive who left the company. A spokesman for Topco declined to identify the executive whom Snelgrove succeeded.
Before joining Topco, Snelgrove, a dairy veteran, worked as director of Alpenrose Dairy in Portland, Ore., where he was responsible for sales, purchasing, distribution, profit and loss, and strategic planning. He has also worked for Kraft General Foods Dairy division and Knudsen Corp.
Topco is a cooperative whose members include more than 40 supermarket operators, wholesalers and food-service companies. It specializes in private-label programs.
