Leatherman said that department managers will have to be trained on the new system. She hopes that electronic labor scheduling will save time for managers, which, in turn, will save the retailer money in the long run.
Ukrop's had used electronic labor scheduling before, but only for its front-end employees. Leatherman said Ukrop's needed more flexibility than its existing software system allowed. Now, the retailer plans to schedule the entire store's labor force with the new software.
