In-store bakery doughnuts remain a differentiator

Soft, sweet and endlessly customizable, the humble doughnut has become a star in retail bakeries across the country.

At South Dayton Supermarket in western New York, handmade Duper Donuts are the store’s most popular product. First introduced more than three decades ago, back when the store was called the Super Duper Grocery, Duper Donuts are nearly twice the size of a regular doughnut, and come in a variety of flavors, including filled selections like peanut butter and jelly.
