The consumer packaged goods industry generated $2.1 trillion in revenue and contributed more than $1 trillion worth of value to the U.S. economy in 2004, according to the "Financial Performance Report" performed by PricewaterhouseCoopers for the Grocery Manufacturers Association/Food Products Association here.
