Frozen foods have begun adopting simpler ingredient labels and calling out more of the attributes that appeal to today’s consumers

Health and nutrition are no strangers to the frozen foods department, but only recently has the industry been fully embracing the kinds of healthy innovations that modern consumers are seeking from the freezer case.

“What I’m seeing in frozen foods in terms of health are products with better ingredients, products with ‘real’ ingredients, fresher ingredients — ingredients you can pronounce,” said Joe Early, category manager for frozen foods at wholesaler
