CHICAGO — Jewel-Osco announced on its Facebook page that it would receive what could be the final U.S. shipment of Twinkies to its Chicago-area stores from a Hostess plant on Dec. 11.
Other Hostess snacks available for the last time include Zingers, Ding Dongs and Orange Cup Cakes. In a comment on the original Facebook post, Jewel-Osco said there would be no limit on how many boxes customers could purchase, but only a small amount would be available at each store.

Twinkies maker Hostess announced Nov. 21 that it would cease operations after failing to reach a compromise with unions. It is rumored that Hostess will seek a buyer or buyers for Twinkies and other iconic brands.
