HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Tuesday was expected to announce it was officially shutting down its troubled self-service wine-vending kiosks, citing disputes with the provider of the machines.

Some retailers, including Wegmans Food Markets, had previously discontinued using the machines, saying they had been difficult for consumers to operate and plagued with mechanical issues since they first introduced the machines less than a year ago.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, state authorities set a Monday deadline for a resolution to disputes over reimbursements with Simple Brands, the Conshohocken, Pa.-based vending machine supplier.
