AKRON, Ohio — Along with launching store-brand brews, retailers are catering to beer consumers in other ways.

Acme Fresh Market, for instance, has launched a Facebook page specifically for beer and wine shoppers.

“It will be a laid back opportunity to offer suggestions on new products or just talk about beer,” according to the page.

In one post, Acme mentions how it met with the president of Mike's Hard Lemonade. The Facebook page has a link to the videotaped meeting.

Other videos are planned.

Shoppers can use the page for everything from requesting new products to reviewing existing ones.

“I would like to see as many wheats as possible for the warm weather,” one person wrote.

Acme also uses the page to notify its beer and wine buyers about special pricing. In one post, Acme talked about how it struck a deal with Sam Adams to buy 50, 28-pack bottles of Boston Lager so that it could sell each case for $24.99.

“We have 25 cases at Acme in Montrose and 25 at the Acme in West Akron. First come, first serve,” the post read.
