Searches for dairy alternatives were up across the board, and New Barn’s almond milk was no exception. According to Instacart, searches skyrocketed 737% in 2016.
RXBAR protein bars

RXBAR protein bars fit into the “clean label” trend, with the entire ingredient list printed on the front of the package. Searches for the bars shot up 716% in the last year.
Simple Mills baking mixes
Based on Instacart searches, the gluten-free trend is far from over, with “gluten-free snacks,” “gluten-free hot dog buns” and “gluten-free crackers” all on the list of top trends. Simple Mills baking mixes — which are gluten-, soy- and gum-free— saw searches jump 634% in 2016.

Made from snap peas, lentils and black beans, Harvest Snaps snacks experienced a 509% boost in searches this year.
NadaMoo! coconut milk ice cream
Although not among the top 5 biggest gainers in searches, a few non-dairy products also saw noteworthy increases. NadaMoo! coconut milk ice cream had one of the biggest surges at 371%.
Kite Hill almond milk yogurt
Kite Hill’s almond milk yogurts are another dairy alternative rising star, with searches up 362% in 2016. The company’s offering also includes almond milk-based cheeses, cream cheeses and ravioli.
Califia Farms plant-based creamers
Searches for Califia Farms’ plant-based creamers, made from almond milk and coconut milk, climbed 228% in the past year. The company also manufactures non-dairy milk, cold brew coffee and juices.
COYO coconut milk yogurt
Another popular non-dairy yogurt is COYO, made from coconut milk. Instacart searches increased 228% in 2016.
Forager Project cashew yogurt
While not on the top products list just yet, Instacart thinks Forager Project cashew yogurt is one to watch. The company also makes dairy-free shakes, smoothies and cashew milk.
Daiya Foods non-dairy cheese
Daiya Foods non-dairy cheese is another product Instacart thinks will be big in 2017. The company recently rolled out new varieties of cheese slices, yogurts and “cheezecake.”
Banza chickpea pasta
Gluten-free foods continue to get more sophisticated and appeal to more people seeking healthy wheat alternatives. Searches for Banza’s chickpea pasta climbed 343% on Instacart in 2016.
Cappello’s gluten-free products
Cappello’s line-up of gluten-free products includes cookie dough, pasta and pizza. Searches for the brand saw a healthy uptick of 314% this year.
