Wisconsin winters haven’t cooled a fervor for grilling at Ptacek’s IGA in Prescott.

Indeed, the ribs, the chickens, the briskets, the pork steaks, the brats, all get their due on Ptacek’s huge Southern Pride gas grills whether Prescott thermometers read 35 above or 5 below. Each grilling day, three or four times a week and always on Sundays — right through the winter — at least 150 pounds of slow-cooked meat comes off the grill amid a cloud of smoke and tantalizing aromas.
