CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Dollar Tree here said Monday it has promoted Gary Philbin to president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.
Philbin, age 56, had been chief operating officer since 2007. Bob Sasser, who had been president and chief executive officer, remains CEO.
“I am thrilled to have Gary assume this new role,” said Sasser in a statement. “As chief operating officer, he has demonstrated outstanding leadership and superb business judgment, and he has been a major contributor to our growth and success. Among his many notable achievements are the improvement of Dollar Tree customer satisfaction and shopping experience and the integration of our Canadian stores.”
