Pantry CEO to Step Down

CARY, N.C. — Convenience store chain The Pantry here said Monday that Terrance M. Marks, its chief executive officer, has informed the board of his resignation.

CARY, N.C. — Convenience store chain The Pantry here said Monday that Terrance M. Marks, its chief executive officer, has informed the board of his resignation. The board has formed a committee to immediately begin the search for a new CEO.

Marks, who said he has accepted a role with an Atlanta-based company, will continue in his role as CEO for up to 60 days and will work with Edwin J. Holman, board chairman, on the leadership transition. Holman will serve as interim CEO to serve until a successor has been retained, The Pantry said.

Marks came to The Pantry in 2009 following a long career with Coca-Cola Enterprises. The Pantry operates more than 1,600 convenience stores in the Southeast, primarily under the Kangaroo banner.
