Supervalu announces three changes to leadership team

Marketer behind new private labels and quick recipes promoted

Supervalu Inc. will see multiple executive leadership changes this week.

The company has promoted Anne Dament to executive vice president of retail, marketing and private brands effective immediately.

Dament joined Supervalu in January and has helped launch more than 350 new private label items this year and developed the recent rollout of the Quick & Easy meal solution program.

President and CEO Mark Gross described Dament as a “dynamic leader” that has “set a positive vision” for retail initiatives.

The wholesaler will also see two changes to its general counsel.

Karla Robertson will step down from her role as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary on Friday. She will be joining Pentair plc after eight years of service at Supervalu.

Stuart McFarland will ascend to the role of senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary on Saturday. McFarland has been with Supervalu since 2010 and is currently vice president, associate general counsel and assistant corporate secretary with a focus on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate governance.

The Minneapolis-based Supervalu serves customers through a network of 3,337 stores. The majority of those stores are wholesale operations that utilize the company’s food distribution business; 217 are traditional retail grocery locations.
