Wholesome Habits: Better-for-you private labels

Americans are eating smaller meals more frequently, creating more opportunity for packaged seeds

Consumers view better-for-you snacking as a healthy way to supplement meals. They are increasingly eating snack foods, particularly those with a perceived health benefit, in between and at meals, according to research firm NPD Group.

Retailers across all channels — from CVS and Target to Aldi, Kroger and 7-Eleven — are responding by launching store brand better-for-you snack foods featuring ingredients like whole grains, a full serving of vegetables, protein and probiotics.
