Ahold USA Using Promotion Management System

QUINCY, Mass. — Ahold USA here has realized time and cost savings by collaborating with manufacturer trading partners via the End-to-End Promotion Management system from DemandTec, San Mateo, Calif.

QUINCY, Mass. — Ahold USA here has realized time and cost savings by collaborating with manufacturer trading partners via the End-to-End Promotion Management system from DemandTec, San Mateo, Calif.

Ahold USA uses the system to manage the promotion planning process, from supplier planning and negotiation to executing versioned, targeted events across all customer touchpoints, said DemandTec. Nearly all of Ahold USA's trade promotion deals are submitted directly by its trading partners through the system. Ahold USA also subscribes to DemandTec’s Lifecycle Price Optimization system.

"DemandTec has become a trusted partner for driving key merchandising and marketing processes within Ahold," said Jeff Martin, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing for Ahold USA, in a statement. "Ahold's business teams leverage the collaborative platform from the origin of negotiated deals with suppliers to executing promotional activities that touch our customers."

Ahold USA includes Stop & Shop; Giant of Landover, Md.; and Giant Food, Carlisle, Pa.
