CHANDLER, Ariz. — Bashas’ will kick off a series of nutrition store tours tomorrow.
During the free one-hour “Eat Smart” tours, Bashas’ dietitian Barbara Ruhs will cover everything from understanding confusing food labels and preparing wholesome lunches to choosing smarter food options that benefit overall health. “It’s easy to give your diet a nutritional upgrade,” Ruhs said in a statement. “If you’re armed with the right food knowledge, you can eat healthy — even when you’re shopping on a budget.”
Every participant will receive a reusable Bashas’ bag filled with coupons, shopping lists and other information. The first tour will be held at its Reems Road store in the town of Surprise. Nine other tours will be held monthly throughout the remainder of the year in North Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale and other locations.
The tours are part of Bashas’ new Eat Smart nutrition program that includes nutrition shelf tags, free diet-friendly recipes, healthy eating tips and shopping lists.
