GREENVILLE, S.C. — Bi-Lo here on Wednesday announced that it had hired Frank "Bob" Highsmith and Mike McShane to new category management positions.
Highmsith was named category manager of beer and wine. A Florida native, Highsmith has more than 30 years of experience in the supermarket industry with Food Fair/Pantry Pride, Kash n' Karry and Sweetbay.
McShane was named Bi-Lo's category manager for specialty foods and rewards. He joins Bi-Lo after spending the last five years with Southern Family Markets, Birmingham, Ala., where he served as a pricing manager, category manager, director of pricing and director of center store merchandising, pricing and merchandising systems. McShane began his career in the grocery industry at Lucky Supermarkets as a bagger, and later advanced to store manager.
He also worked as a category manager for Albertsons, American Stores and C&S Wholesale Grocers, and as a senior procurement manager at Winn-Dixie.
