Calif. Seeks Solution to Recycling-Fund Crisis

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Grocers Association here said it is working with state lawmakers to find permanent solutions to the problems caused by legislative borrowings from the state's Beverge Container Recycling Fund, which is broke.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Grocers Association here said it is working with state lawmakers to find permanent solutions to the problems caused by legislative borrowings from the state's Beverge Container Recycling Fund, which is broke.

The search for long-term solutions follows the Feb. 22 passage of a short-term fix that, if signed into law by Gov. Schwarzenegger, as CGA anticipates, would accelerate distributor payments into the fund.
