Central Market Finds Voice in 'More, Please!'

HOUSTONH.E. Butt Grocery's Central Market has launched “More, Please!” a new online blog that includes articles, recipes and information on new products.

“More, Please! is brimming, bursting and oozing with all that we love about food — in delightfully bite-sized chunks, served up daily,” Central Market writes on the home page of the blog, which features colorful graphics of strawberries, kiwis and other fruits.

The blog is particularly useful for learning about product introductions. One post, for instance, described the launch of handheld pies — portable pies that don’t require a fork to eat.

“Our bakers use a blend of cream cheese and butter to make a flaky, melt-in-your-mouth crust, which we stuff with luscious scratch-made fruit fillings such as cherry, pecan, peach, apple or wild Maine blueberry,” according to the post. “Then we bake — not fry — each little pie to perfection.

Central Market also used the blog to introduce its new store-made pasta, prepared daily with imported Italian flour and semolina. Among the pasta cuts are pappardelle, fettuccine, linguine, penne, lasagna and strozzapreti in flavors like traditional, Cabernet, carrot, Dijon and chile powder.
