CINCINNATI — About 12,000 union workers at Kroger Co. stores in greater Cincinnati were voting Thursday on a new contract offer from the retailer here.

CINCINNATI — About 12,000 union workers at Kroger Co. stores in greater Cincinnati were voting Thursday on a new contract offer from the retailer here.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 75, also based here, said its negotiating committee had unanimously recommended an offer from Kroger “that protects affordable, quality health care and provides livable wages,” according to a statement from Lennie Wyatt, president of Local 75.

Further contract details were not immediately available.
