WASHINGTON — The Grocery Manufacturers Association announced that Gary Rodkin, chief executive officer of ConAgra Foods, has been elected chairman of GMA’s board of directors.
Rodkin previously served as vice chairman of GMA and as chairman of its government affairs council. He will serve a two-year term beginning Feb. 16.
“GMA is very fortunate to have a leader of Gary’s experience, commitment and passion in this critical leadership role,” said Pamela Bailey, GMA president and CEO, in a statement. “I look forward to working with him as we seek to fulfill GMA’s mission to support our member companies as they sustain and enhance the quality of life for hundreds of millions of people in the United States and around the globe.”
Prior to joining ConAgra Foods in 2005, Rodkin was chairman and CEO of PepsiCo Beverages and Foods North America. From 1979-1995, he held marketing and general management positions at General Mills.
