Conant To Step Down as CEO

Campbell Soup Co. President and Chief Executive Officer Douglas Conant plans to step down as CEO on July 31, 2011, the end of the company's fiscal year.

CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Co. President and Chief Executive Officer Douglas Conant plans to step down as CEO on July 31, 2011, the end of the company's fiscal year.

The Board has named Denise Morrison executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective this Friday, in anticipation of her election to succeed Conant as CEO. Morrison has 35 years experience in the consumer packaged goods industry and has been the president of North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages since October 2007.

In her new roles, Morrison will be responsible for all of the company's global businesses. The businesses in the North America Soup, Sauces and Beverage division, International division, and Pepperidge Farms will report directly to her.

Sean Connolly, who has served as president of Campbell USA since 2008, will succeed Morrison as president of the Soup, Sauces and Beverage division.

Morrison will also oversee corporate strategy, research and development, and global marketing services. Other corporate functions will continue to report to Conant.
