Cyberattack Hits T&T Supermarket Website

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — T&T Supermarket here on Friday alerted customers to an illegal attack on its website resulting in the exposure of 58,000 customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and passwords, as well as information submitted by job applicants.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — T&T Supermarket here on Friday alerted customers to an illegal attack on its website resulting in the exposure of 58,000 customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and passwords, as well as information submitted by job applicants.

The company said some website visitors may also have been exposed to malware that gathered personal information from user’s computers.

T&T is a division of Brampton, Ontario-based Loblaw Cos., and operates 20 Asian supermarkets.

T&T said the attacks appeared to have been made on four occasions this month. The company said it has temporarily shut down its website and engaged security experts to conduct a full investigation. It has asked all customers to re-register at its website when it comes back online.
