Federal Organized Crime Legislation Expected This Week

The National Retail Federation said yesterday that it expects three separate pieces of legislation addressing organized retail crime (ORC) to be introduced this week in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation here said yesterday that it expects three separate pieces of legislation addressing organized retail crime (ORC) to be introduced this week in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. The bills, to be sponsored by Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill.; Rep. Bobby Scott, D-Ind.; and Rep. Brad Ellsworth, D-Ind., are expected to be similar to bills introduced by the same sponsors last year, which addressed e-fencing and strengthening law enforcement,
