Founder of Oregon Chain Hospitalized; Wife Dead

Raymond Nidiffer, owner of Ray's Food Place and C&K Markets, a 55-store chain based in Brookings, Ore., remained in fair condition yesterday from apparently self-inflicted knife wounds after his wife, June, was found stabbed to death Sunday night at the senior-living facility where they both lived, according to reports.

MEDFORD, Ore. — Raymond Nidiffer, owner of Ray's Food Place and C&K Markets, a 55-store chain based in Brookings, Ore., remained in fair condition yesterday from apparently self-inflicted knife wounds after his wife, June, was found stabbed to death Sunday night at the senior-living facility where they both lived. Police said they believe Nidiffer killed his wife before stabbing himself, according to reports.
