DODGE CITY, Kan. — Publix Super Markets, Kroger Co. and Winn Dixie Stores are voluntarily recalling various store brand ground beef products due to possible E. coli contamination.

The beef was sourced from National Beef Packing Co., Dodge City, Kansas, which recalled around 60,424 pounds of ground beef on Friday, according to the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service.

FSIS said these products were products from July 23 to August 14 and have “Est. 262” printed within the USDA mark of inspection. There have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall. The adulteration was found by Ohio Department of Agricultures’ routine microbial testing.

Winn-Dixie’s store brand recall affects four ground beef products sold in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Publix Stores is recalling 27 various store-brand beef products such as specific burgers, steaks, meatballs, and stuffed peppers solid in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida.

"As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves,” said Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director, in a release.

Kroger also pulled its six recalled items from shelves, and, in addition, the retailer has put up signs in the meat department and initiated its customer recall notification system via phone calls and receipt messages.

All three retailers are offering full refunds for recalled products.
