ABINGDON, Va. — K-VA-T Food Stores here has joined FoodLink, a buying platform for fresh food retailers and wholesalers.
The network, which consists of more than 2,000 retail grocers and their fresh food suppliers, as well as carriers, third-party brokers and wholesalers, helps retailers to source fresh food.
“FoodLink represents a big step forward in the way K-VA-T purchases fresh, high-quality food for our customers,” said Mike Tipton, director of produce, K-VA-T Food Stores, in a statement. “The minute we went live we were already seeing efficiencies and bottom-line benefits to our perishables buying team.”
