Kroger Lands Bombay Collection

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. has begun an arrangement with home and furniture décor Bombay Co., New York, to sell select items and gifts at 180 of its stores, including Dillons, Fry’s, Kroger, Fry’s and Smith’s Marketplace stores as well as King Soopers, and Fred Meyer stores, according to a report by Furniture Today.

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. has begun an arrangement with home and furniture décor Bombay Co., New York, to sell select items and gifts at 180 of its stores, including Dillons, Fry’s, Kroger, Fry’s and Smith’s Marketplace stores as well as King Soopers, and Fred Meyer stores, according to a report by Furniture Today.

Some items in the assortment include an armless accent chair, apothecary jar, iron clock, floral vase, table lamp. Retail price points reportedly range from $7 to $400. The line of products can be viewed at Fred Meyer’s website along with a video that shows a branded store-within-a-store shop.

After filing for bankruptcy protection in 2007 and liquidating its base of 500 stores, Bombay Co., repositioned its business for the wholesale market that now sells to specialty, department store and mass market channels.
