TORONTO — Loblaw Cos. here was named among Canada’s top 100 employers in the annual list by Mediacorp published Friday.
The only grocery retailer on the 2010 list, Loblaw was recognized for encouraging its employees' ongoing career development with online and in-house training programs, tuition subsidies, subsidies for professional designations, and career planning advice; as well as for its benefits to salaried employees and for its internship program.
“This distinction is a milestone achievement for Loblaw, as we continue to build a culture of success where our colleagues are empowered and supported o meet and exceed customer expectations,” Judy McCrie, executive vice president, human resources, for Loblaw, said in a statement.
