Lowe's Acquires 55 Texas Stores: Report

LITTLEFIELD, Texas — Lowe's Market here has reportedly purchased 55 stores in south and central Texas from Super S Foods, San Antonio, for an undisclosed sum.

LITTLEFIELD, Texas — Lowe's Market here has reportedly purchased 55 stores in south and central Texas from Super S Foods, San Antonio, for an undisclosed sum.

Prior to the purchase, Lowe's operated 90 stores in west Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, with annual sales estimated at $700 million.

According to local press reports, Lowe's will retain all Super S employees and maintain the same store hours at all 55 locations. "Customers will begin to see a transformation of products and expansion of departments within the next three to four weeks," Roger Lowe Jr., the chain's chief executive officer, was quoted as telling local media.
