WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Lowes Foods has introduced a meal-planning widget.

Users can install the Lowes Foods Meal Planner widget on blogs or their Facebook, Twitter, iGoogle or MySpace page, among other home pages.

The planner lets users search, save and plan meals quickly and simply right from the computer. The tool has hundreds of recipes that can be grouped by meal occasion, cuisine, diet and other subjects.

With the click of a button, users can add the necessary ingredients of a chosen recipe to an online shopping list, which they can print out. Users can rate and review recipes, as well as add their own recipes.

“Meal Planner is guaranteed to revolutionize the way you shop,” Lowes states.

The service is a result of a partnership between Lowes and Qponix, Ann Arbor, Mich.

“This useful tool, brought to you by Lowes Foods, allows you to find delicious recipes, create meal plans and build convenient shopping lists,” Lowes states. “It's designed to save you time and money.”
