Man Sentenced in Giant Eagle Credit Card Scam

PITTSBURGH — One of the Michigan men charged with creating fake credit cards and using them to buy gift cards at Giant Eagle has been sentenced to 15 months in prison, according to reports.

Corey Deandre Vance, 27, of Inkster, Mich., had pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to commit credit card fraud as part of scheme with three other men that targeted Giant Eagle and GetGo stores in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Authorities said the fraud robbed the stores of as much as $70,000, according to local TV station WKBN.

In May, Donald Cochise Hunter, 54, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy and to unlawful possession of access device-making equipment, but has not yet been sentenced, according to a report in the Beaver County (Pa.) Times.
