NEW YORK — The New York City Council has postponed its oversight hearing on Wal-Mart until Feb. 3 because of the snowstorm that hit the city this week.
The council had been scheduled to discuss Wal-Mart's planned entry into the city at the meeting, which had already been postponed once before.
As previously reported, Wal-Mart, which said it would not attend the meeting, had launched a publicity campaign promoting its stores earlier this week in which it said 71% of New Yorkers support having Wal-Mart in the city.
Others, including local union and civic leaders, have raised objections to the effort.
