SKOKIE, Ill. — Online grocer Peapod here, a division of Dutch-based Royal Ahold, has joined the MyWebGrocer Advertising Network, which runs ads by CPG manufacturers on food retail websites.

Peapod, which includes Peapod by Stop & Shop and Peapod by Giant (Landover), provides online grocery services in 14 U.S. markets, including the metro areas of Chicago, Milwaukee, Boston, suburban New York and Washington, as well as communities in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Virginia and Rhode Island.

The network includes 90 other retail websites, said MyWebGrocer, Colchester, Vt.

“We believe that the targeted nature of grocery-specific advertisements within the MyWebGrocer Ad Network will be of value to our Peapod customers,” said John Burchard, senior vice president of Peapod, in a statement. “In addition, Peapod’s website, with its large base of online grocery shoppers, will be an attractive destination for CPG manufacturers to engage with consumers.”
