Peapod Partners in Green Commuter Reward Program

Peapod by Stop & Shop will award more than two dozen weekly prizes of $100 worth of free groceries to commuters participating in the Earth Day Commuter Challenge, a program promoting green commuting for consumers who live and work in Connecticut and New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, according to NuRide here, which administers the program for area companies.

WESSEX, Conn. — Peapod by Stop & Shop will award more than two dozen weekly prizes of $100 worth of free groceries to commuters participating in the Earth Day Commuter Challenge, a program promoting green commuting for consumers who live and work in Connecticut and New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, according to NuRide here, which administers the program for area companies.

The challenge encourages carpooling, telecommuting, biking, walking and other “green” commuting practices and was launched last month by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Peapod by Stop & Shop offers Internet grocery ordering and delivery.
