CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble has voluntarily recalled specific lots of its Eukanuba and Iams dry dog and cat food due to a Salmonella risk identified during routine testing.
Affected products were distributed to select U.S. retailers and made within a 10-day window at a single manufacturing site. They represent approximately one-tenth of 1% of annual production. No Salmonella-related illnesses have been reported in association with these products.
Salmonella can affect animals consuming contaminated products and humans who handle it, especially if they’ve not washed their hands after having contact with the product or surfaces exposed to the product.
