ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Julie Philp will join the National Association of Chain Drug Stores as director of federal government affairs on April 11, the association said on Friday.

In her position, Philp will convey to lawmakers the ability of pharmacy services to reduce health care costs and improve patient health. She will help advance NACDS’ pro-patient, pro-pharmacy policy advocacy efforts by building and maintaining relationships with members of Congress and their staff, as well as monitoring key health care developments on Capitol Hill.

Philp most recently served as director of government relations for the Association of Community Pharmacists and worked with the American Capitol Group on health care issues. She replaces Yong Choe, who left NACDS in January to return to Capitol Hill in a policy capacity. Philp will report to Paul Kelly, NACDS’ vice president of federal government affairs.
