CHARLESTON, S.C. — Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. here on Friday said it has hired John M. Padgett as vice president of marketing for Piggly Wiggly and its Greenbax loyalty program, and has named Christopher Ibsen director of corporate affairs.
Padgett has more than 30 years of marketing experience, including time with Coca-Cola Co. and with ad agencies.
He succeeds Ibsen, who had been director of marketing, and will have additional duties with responsibility for all marketing and advertising functions.
Ibsen has been with Piggly Wiggly for seven years and has been a member if the company's management committee since 2006.
In his new role, Ibsen will focus on promoting and improving media relations, facilitating government relations, overseeing charitable contribution and sponsorship budgets, and managing local product introduction initiatives.
Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. operates more than 100 stores in South Carolina and Georgia.
