Plamann Elected Vice Chair of Fed's Economic Advisory Council

SAN FRANCISCO — The Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank here said it has elected Alfred A. Plamann, president and chief executive officer of Unified Grocers, Los Angeles, as vice chair.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank here said it has elected Alfred A. Plamann, president and chief executive officer of Unified Grocers, Los Angeles, as vice chair.

Plamann has been a member of the council since January 2009. Members of the council provide information on current and pending developments in the regional and national economies.

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco provides wholesale banking services to financial institutions throughout nine Western states and, as the nation's central bank, formulates monetary policy, serves as a bank regulator, administers consumer protection laws and is fiscal agent for the U.S. government.
